Join an international network of care practitioners committed to transforming family and community-based care for children.
Mutual Learning believes in connecting care practitioners worldwide to inspire each other and mutually transform towards high quality family and community based care. We facilitate collaboration, dialogue, and knowledge sharing among professionals dedicated to improving children's lives.
The International Convention on the Rights of the Child states that children should grow up in a family environment that provides them with love, security, and understanding. However, over 5.4 million children are living in institutions despite having living parents.
We believe there are better alternatives to institutional care. Strengthening families and providing care based on love and community is key to ensuring full development.
About us
Through our Mutual Learning Program, we invite you to join an International Network of Change-Makers working to transform childcare practices. You will share experiences, knowledge, and best practices with professionals from around the world.
Instead of telling people how to change, we invite organizations and professionals to share their know-how, experiences, and challenges to inspire change.
The experiences of our participants, enriching materials and discussions will be central to the program.
We are nothing without the relationships with children, families, communities and other stakeholders. In other words, we are interested to hear from YOU.
The program is available in English and Spanish.
Discover how we can create a brighter future for the world's children. In our international community, care-practitioners get connected with each other. Get inspired by like-minded people and those who think differently. Rich and fruitful conversations guaranteed.
Voices from the program
The sessions with Rocio were so enriching. I thought I knew better but I did not. I learned new things about dialogue. It's not about me, it's about the client. It's about us doing things together to solve the challenges.
For me the MLP is about sharing various practices and learning from each other. Like a peer group. It's been good to work with different countries and different perspectives. I find that very useful.
I learned sometimes we don't work on the best interest of the child, but on our own interest. The family is now more important than anything. That is inspiring.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to reflect with other people from other parts of the world.
